Overpriced Stay in the Middle of a Construction Zone Negative: We booked the property for one week in August. Before confirming, we specifically asked about potential construction noise, as we had read a review mentioning it. We were assured that all works were finished and there would be no disturbance. Unfortunately, upon arrival we discovered two large construction sites directly next to and behind the villa, with ongoing heavy works throughout the day (sawing, hammering, drilling, dust). The noise started early in the morning and continued until evening, including Saturday. Only Sunday was quiet. The entire complex was still largely under construction. When we raised this with the host, we were told they could not explain it and implied it had just started – which was clearly not the case. After much discussion, we were able to shorten our stay by three nights without charge, but no further compensation was offered despite the property being practically unusable. Neither the host nor Booking showed willingness to resolve this fairly. The house itself is beautiful, well equipped and in a nice location – but given the lack of transparency and ongoing construction, we cannot recommend booking it with confidence. We felt misled and would advise others to be cautious until building works in the area are truly completed.

The worst holiday accommodation I have ever experienced. Positive: The house was fine. Negative: The unacceptable noise from a stone breaking machine nearby and even worse the grinding, drilling, dust and smell from builders working on a party wall for the whole stay.
